Polyacrylate
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002846
A synthetic polymer derived from acrylic acid or its esters, used as a drilling fluid additive to modify rheological properties and control fluid loss. These polymers function as dispersants, flocculants, or viscosifiers depending on their molecular weight and charge. Sodium polyacrylate is a common example, often employed in water-based drilling muds.
