Flocculate

To cause fine solid particles suspended in a drilling fluid to clump together into larger, heavier aggregates. This action facilitates their separation from the fluid by sedimentation or mechanical means. The process is induced by adding specific chemical agents, such as polymers or salts, to alter the surface charges of the particles.
