Annular pressure
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000131
The fluid pressure within any of the annular spaces in a well, such as the space between the production tubing and casing or between two concentric casing strings. This pressure is monitored at the surface to detect leaks in the tubing, packer, or casing that could lead to an uncontrolled release of formation fluids. Regulations in many jurisdictions require continuous monitoring of annular pressures and define specific thresholds for corrective action.
