Casing pressure
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000573
The pressure measured in the annular space between the production tubing and the production casing, or between two concentric casing strings. This pressure is monitored at the surface via a gauge on the casinghead and is used to assess well integrity and detect potential issues like packer leaks or casing failures. Sustained casing pressure (SCP) is a specific condition where this pressure rebuilds after being bled off, indicating a leak path.
