Apparent wavelength

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000166

The observed wavelength of a seismic wave as it propagates along a surface or through a medium, which may differ from its true wavelength. This is influenced by the angle of incidence and the velocity of the medium. It is calculated by dividing the apparent velocity by the frequency of the wave.
