Bit nozzle
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000360
A small, replaceable component inserted into the drill bit that directs and accelerates the flow of drilling fluid onto the bottom of the wellbore. Nozzles create high-velocity fluid jets that clean the cutting surfaces of the bit and lift rock cuttings away from the drilling face. The size and number of nozzles are selected to achieve the desired hydraulic horsepower at the bit for efficient drilling.
