Blowing the drip
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000388
The routine of draining liquids that settle in a drip, a low-point collector on a gas pipeline or gathering line, by opening its drain valve and sending the water and condensate to a tank or container. Operators repeat it on a schedule so that liquid does not build up and restrict gas flow or promote corrosion. A drip is a small trap, unlike a slug catcher, which is a much larger vessel at the end of a multiphase line.
