Break circulation
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000446
To initiate the flow of drilling fluid through the wellbore after a period of static conditions, such as after a trip or during cementing operations. This process involves slowly increasing pump pressure to overcome gel strength and friction in the fluid column. It is performed carefully to avoid excessive pressure surges that could damage the formation or equipment.
