Capacity factor (of a valve), Cv, Kv
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000533
A measure of a valve's flow capacity, representing the volume of water at a specific temperature that can pass through the valve per unit of time at a given pressure drop. The Cv (flow coefficient) is typically measured in US gallons per minute with a 1 psi pressure drop at 60°F. The Kv (flow factor) is the metric equivalent, measured in cubic meters per hour with a 1 bar pressure drop at 20°C.
