Flow coefficient, Cv

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001472

A measure of the flow capacity of a valve or other fluid component, representing the volume of water at 60°F that will flow through a fully open valve with a pressure drop of 1 psi. A higher Cv value indicates a greater flow capacity for a given pressure differential. This coefficient is used in sizing valves for specific applications to achieve desired flow rates.
