K coefficient
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002083
The geometric coefficient of an electrode logging device, the constant that converts the measured voltage and the injected current into apparent resistivity, so that resistivity equals K times the voltage divided by the current. For a normal device it equals 4 pi times the spacing between the current and measuring electrodes, and for a lateral device it depends on the spacings among the current and the two measuring electrodes. It has units of length, and its value is fixed by the electrode geometry.
