Electrode resistivity
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004311
A method of measuring the electrical resistivity of a formation using electrodes placed on a logging tool that contact the borehole wall or are immersed in the drilling fluid. Current is passed through the formation, and the resulting voltage drop is measured to determine resistivity. This technique is sensitive to the presence of hydrocarbons and formation water.
