Applied-potential method
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000168
A geophysical technique used to map subsurface resistivity variations by injecting an electric current into the ground and measuring the resulting potential differences. This method is often employed for environmental studies, groundwater exploration, and shallow geological mapping. It can detect conductive anomalies associated with mineral deposits or contaminated plumes.
