Induced polarization
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001968
A geophysical method that measures the voltage decay in the ground after the cessation of an injected electrical current. This phenomenon occurs due to the buildup of electrical charges at mineral-fluid interfaces within porous rocks. It is primarily used in mineral exploration to detect disseminated sulfide mineralization.
