Coherence

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000731

A measure of the similarity or continuity of seismic waveforms across adjacent traces in a seismic dataset. High coherence indicates continuous reflectors, while low coherence suggests discontinuities such as faults, fractures, or changes in stratigraphy. Coherence attributes are widely used in seismic interpretation to delineate geological features.
