Common receiver
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004272
A collection of seismic traces that share the same receiver location but originate from different source points. This type of gather is used in seismic data processing to analyze and correct for receiver-related effects. It is one of several ways to sort seismic data, alongside common source and common midpoint gathers.
A group of seismic traces recorded at a single receiver location from multiple source points. This gather illustrates how seismic energy from different sources arrives at one specific sensor. Common-receiver gathers are used in seismic processing for velocity analysis and to identify noise patterns related to the receiver's location.
