CRG
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000884
A common receiver gather: a set of seismic traces recorded at one receiver location from many different source positions. It is used in processing to check receiver coupling and near-surface effects and to apply surface-consistent corrections, alongside the common shot gather as a basic way of sorting the data. Its traces are ordered by source position, whereas the traces of a common midpoint gather are ordered by offset.
