Compartment
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004274
A discrete volume within a reservoir that is hydraulically isolated from other parts of the field by sealing faults, shale barriers, or other impermeable boundaries. Each compartment has its own distinct pressure system and fluid contacts, behaving as a separate production unit. Identifying these compartments is done by analyzing pressure transient data, fluid compositions, and production history across multiple wells.
