Staged fracturing
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003582
A hydraulic fracturing technique where a long horizontal wellbore is fractured in multiple discrete sections, or stages, along its length. Each stage is isolated and fractured sequentially, allowing for more uniform and effective stimulation of the reservoir rock. This method maximizes contact with the hydrocarbon-bearing formation and is standard practice in unconventional resource development.
