Complex trace analysis
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000783
A method of seismic data processing that involves transforming a real seismic trace into a complex trace using the Hilbert transform. This allows for the extraction of attributes such as instantaneous amplitude, phase, and frequency, which can highlight subtle geological features. These attributes are used to interpret stratigraphy, fluid contacts, and reservoir characteristics.
