Fourier transform
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001548
A mathematical operation that converts a function of time or space into a function of frequency or wavenumber, revealing the spectral content of the signal. It is a fundamental tool in seismic data processing for analyzing and manipulating the frequency characteristics of seismic waves. The discrete Fourier transform is commonly implemented using the fast Fourier transform algorithm.
