FFT
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001388
An abbreviation for fast Fourier transform, an efficient algorithm for computing the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) and its inverse, which converts a sequence of data from the time or spatial domain to the frequency or wavenumber domain. This algorithm significantly reduces the computational time compared to a direct DFT calculation. It is widely used in seismic data processing for spectral analysis, filtering, and migration.
