Wavenumber
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004123
A measure of spatial frequency, representing the number of waves per unit distance or the spatial rate of change of the phase of a wave. It is typically expressed in units of radians per meter or cycles per meter. Wavenumber is the spatial analog of temporal frequency and is used in Fourier analysis to describe the spatial components of seismic data.
