Seismic trace
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003320
A recording of the seismic wavefield at a single receiver location over time, representing the response of the subsurface to an acoustic impulse. It is a time series of amplitude values that reflect the acoustic impedance contrasts encountered by the seismic wave. Multiple traces are gathered to form a seismic section for interpretation.
