Compressor plant

A facility containing one or more compressors designed to increase the pressure of natural gas for transportation or processing. These plants are installed along pipelines to maintain flow, at wellheads to boost low-pressure production, and in processing facilities for refrigeration or reinjection. A typical plant includes compressors, prime movers (engines or turbines), cooling systems, and scrubbers to remove liquids before compression.
