Compression ratio
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000788
The ratio of the absolute discharge pressure to the absolute suction pressure for a compressor stage or unit. It indicates the degree to which a gas is compressed. A higher compression ratio requires more work and can lead to higher discharge temperatures, influencing compressor design and efficiency.
