Signal-to-noise ratio
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003406
A measure of the strength of the desired seismic signal relative to the strength of unwanted noise in the recorded data. It is typically expressed in decibels (dB) or as a dimensionless ratio. A higher signal-to-noise ratio indicates better data quality and improved ability to resolve subsurface features.
