Water/oil ratio (WOR)

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004114

The ratio of the volume of water produced to the volume of oil produced from a well, expressed as a dimensionless number. This metric indicates the efficiency of oil recovery and the stage of reservoir depletion. A rising WOR often signals water encroachment into the oil-bearing zone.
