Water-mud emulsifier
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004113
A chemical additive used in drilling fluids to create and stabilize an emulsion of water droplets within a continuous oil phase. These agents reduce the interfacial tension between the water and oil, preventing the water from separating out. Common examples include fatty acids, amines, and polyamides, which are selected based on the oil type and desired emulsion stability.
