Modulus of compression
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002412
A measure of a material's resistance to uniform compression, also known as the bulk modulus. It quantifies how much a material's volume changes under hydrostatic pressure. In geophysics, the bulk modulus is a key elastic property of rocks, influencing the velocity of P-waves and providing insights into the rock's fluid content and porosity.
