Corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA)
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000872
A metallic material, such as stainless steel or nickel-based alloys, specifically engineered to withstand corrosive environments encountered in oil and gas production. These alloys contain elements like chromium, molybdenum, and nickel to form a passive layer that resists chemical degradation. CRAs are selected for downhole tubulars, valves, and other components exposed to sour gas or high-chloride brines.
