Sulfate-resistant cement

A type of Portland cement formulated to resist the corrosive effects of sulfate ions found in formation waters. This cement has a low tricalcium aluminate (C3A) content, which is the component most susceptible to sulfate attack. API Class G and H cements are often specified for sulfate resistance.
