Crosscorrelation flowmeter
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000899
A downhole tool that measures fluid velocity by detecting the time delay of naturally occurring or induced fluid disturbances between two spatially separated sensors. It analyzes the correlation between the signals from the upstream and downstream sensors to determine the transit time of the fluid. This method is effective in multiphase flow regimes.
