Crossflow
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000900
The movement of fluids between different permeable zones within a wellbore, often occurring when the hydrostatic pressure of the drilling fluid is insufficient to isolate them. This can lead to commingling of fluids, pressure imbalances, and potential formation damage. Crossflow is a concern during drilling and completion.
