Backflow

The unintended reversal of fluid movement within a wellbore or production system, causing fluid to move against its normal direction of flow. This phenomenon can result from pressure imbalances or equipment malfunction. Backflow can lead to operational issues such as commingling of fluids or environmental concerns.
