Swing check valve
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003731
A valve that permits fluid flow in only one direction, using a hinged disc that swings open with forward flow and closes against a seat with reverse flow. The disc's movement is entirely dependent on the fluid's pressure and velocity. These valves are commonly installed in pipelines to prevent backflow and protect pumps or other equipment from damage.
