Butterfly valve
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000497
A quarter-turn valve that uses a rotating disc, mounted on a shaft, to regulate or stop fluid flow. When the disc is parallel to the flow, the valve is fully open; a 90-degree rotation closes it. Butterfly valves are lightweight, compact, and offer quick operation, making them suitable for large-diameter pipelines and low-pressure applications.
