Check valve

A mechanical device that permits fluid or gas to flow in only one direction, preventing backflow in a pipeline or wellbore. It operates automatically, opening with forward flow and closing against reverse pressure. In drilling and completion operations, check valves are installed in casing strings or production tubing to maintain pressure integrity and prevent unwanted fluid movement.
