Spin flowmeter
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004453
A downhole tool used in production logging to measure the velocity of fluid flow within a wellbore. It consists of a propeller or turbine that rotates as fluid passes through it, with the rotation speed proportional to the fluid velocity. This measurement, combined with the wellbore cross-sectional area, determines the volumetric flow rate from specific zones.
