Determinism
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001035
The principle that the future state of a system is entirely determined by its present state, with no element of randomness. In reservoir characterization, deterministic methods produce a single, unique model of the subsurface based on input data and interpolation algorithms. This contrasts with stochastic methods, which generate multiple possible outcomes.
