Falloff test
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001365
A well test conducted on an injection well by shutting in the well and monitoring the decrease in bottomhole pressure over time. The pressure data are analyzed to determine reservoir properties such as permeability, skin factor, and reservoir pressure in the vicinity of the injector. This test is analogous to a buildup test in a producing well.
