Pressure falloff
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002916
The decline in bottomhole pressure that follows shutting in an injection well, recorded over time as the injected fluid spreads out in the reservoir. Analysing the decline gives permeability, skin factor and the pressure near the injector, in the same way a buildup test does for a producer. In a falloff the pressure drops, whereas in a buildup it rises.
