Pressure drawdown

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002915

The difference between the static reservoir pressure and the flowing bottomhole pressure at a given production rate, which is the pressure available to push fluid toward the well. Drawdown rises with rate, and excessive values can cause sand production, water or gas coning, or fines migration. It is expressed in psi or kPa, and the production rate divided by it gives the productivity index.
