Drawdown
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001172
The difference between the static reservoir pressure and the flowing bottomhole pressure in a producing well. It represents the pressure drop that drives fluid flow from the reservoir into the wellbore. A larger drawdown generally results in a higher production rate, but excessive drawdown can lead to reservoir damage or premature water/gas breakthrough.
