Fitted variogram
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001436
A mathematical function that approximates the experimental variogram, which quantifies the spatial correlation or continuity of a geological property. This function is selected from a set of standard models, such as spherical, exponential, or Gaussian, and its parameters are adjusted to best match the observed data. It is used in geostatistical methods like kriging to estimate property values at unsampled locations.
