Variogram
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004014
A geostatistical tool that quantifies the spatial correlation or variability between data points as a function of their separation distance and direction. It plots the semivariance against the lag distance. Variograms are used in reservoir characterization to model the spatial distribution of properties like porosity or permeability for interpolation and uncertainty analysis.
