Euclidian distance
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001334
A measure of the straight-line distance between two points in a multi-dimensional space, calculated using the Pythagorean theorem. In reservoir characterization, it quantifies the spatial separation between data points, such as well locations or seismic trace positions. This distance is used in geostatistical methods like kriging to determine the influence of neighboring data on an estimated value.
