Sequential Gaussian simulation

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003340

A geostatistical method used to generate multiple equiprobable realizations of a spatially distributed property, such as porosity or permeability, that honor both the input data and a specified variogram model. This technique sequentially simulates values at unsampled locations based on conditional distributions derived from neighboring data. It provides a way to quantify spatial uncertainty in reservoir models.
