Fluid compatibility test

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001500

A laboratory procedure conducted to assess the potential for adverse reactions when two or more fluids are mixed, particularly in downhole environments. This test identifies issues such as emulsion formation, precipitation of solids, viscosity changes, or gas evolution that could impair well performance or damage equipment. It is performed before injecting treatment fluids, completion fluids, or stimulation chemicals into a well.
