Fractal
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001563
A complex geometric shape that exhibits self-similarity, meaning that its parts resemble the whole at different scales. Fractals often have a non-integer dimension, known as the fractal dimension, which quantifies their irregularity and space-filling capacity. Many natural phenomena in geology, such as fracture networks and pore structures, can exhibit fractal characteristics.
